Getting small samples of your furry friend’s blood and analysing them are a routine part of veterinary medicine. Pets can’t simply tell us if they are feeling unwell. Even if they could, there are so many aspects of their health that can only be analyzed with a blood exam. What do veterinary blood tests reveal?

From just one sample, our veterinary team can get crucial information about your pet:

• Immunity
• Hydration
• Blood clotting ability
• Any health issues they may have (e.g. anemia, infections, diabetes)
• And so much more!

Is bloodwork painful for pets?

Not at all! In fact, the vast majority of pets do not need any kind of anesthesia, as taking the sample feels similar to any kind of minor injection or vaccination.

How long will it take to get the results of my pet’s blood tests?

Because we have an in-house laboratory, you will receive your pet’s blood test results on the same day they were taken. We do on occasion send samples to an outside lab. These are for more complex cases that require additional analysis. It may take a few business days to receive these results.
