Deworming Services for Pets

They’re slimy, sneaky and just plain gross. More than that, worms can cause substantial damage to a pet’s health. In the most severe infestations, anemia, organ damage, blood clots, and even death have been reported. The good news is all it takes is regular deworming medication to keep your pet protected. With our help, you will have peace of mind when it comes to worms and your furry friend. We will help ensure they stay on schedule and never miss a dose of their medication. Simply call us at 204.261.7376 if you have any questions about our deworming services.

How often should a pet be dewormed?

We recommend deworming your pet once every 3 months, or about 4 times per year. This will provide them with ample protection from parasites, which are around all throughout the year, including the winter months. Remember, missing just one dose can leave your pet vulnerable.

Can I deworm my pet myself?

There are various over-the-counter deworming medications you can buy, but these do not provide enough protection for your furry friend. They often only protect against one type of worms, and not the other. The deworming medications that offer comprehensive protection are available only at veterinary hospitals like ours, after you receive a prescription from your pet’s veterinarian.

How will my pet feel after they are dewormed?

Patients usually experience some mild side effects after their treatments. Fear not, these subside within a matter of hours and are harmless. You may notice your pet is a bit drowsy and has a loss of appetite. They may also vomit and have diarrhea.
