I have always wanted to work in an environment that catered to animal health. Ever since I was little I couldn't picture myself working in any other field or profession. That is what initially led me to enroll in the Pre-Vet program at the University of Manitoba with the intent of applying to Veterinary Medicine. I ended up not completing my Pre-Vet program and instead got my Bachelors of Science in 2020 and then enrolled into the Veterinary Technologists program at Red River College, which I will be graduating from in 2022. I first began working with animals at a wildlife rehabilitation center from 2017 to 2019 and thereafter began working in general practice small animal hospitals. I first came to St. Norbert Animal Hospital in the spring of 2021 for my first RRC Practicum placement, after which I accepted a Veterinary Assistant position until I receive my certificate as a Registered Veterinary Technologist! In my limited spare time I enjoy hiking, kayaking and fishing with my family at our cottage, reading, dabbling in wildlife taxidermy, and cross-stitching and embroidering (aka. my "grandma-esk" hobby)!
